- Be considerate – use appropriate language consistent with YMCA values
- Be respectful – recognize there are a variety of opinions, avoiding personal attacks or politicizing discussions
- Be relevant – ensure all posts are relevant to the current discussion thread and demonstrate critical thinking
- Be thoughtful – respond thoughtfully to prompts and questions posed by convenors and members
- Be helpful – contribute substantial content beyond “agree” or “disagree”
- Be honest – cite sources when using or referring to content, links, materials, etc. that are not your own
Respect other people’s time and bandwidth
Electronic communication takes time: time to read and time in which to respond. Most people today lead busy lives, just like you do. Make your written communication meaningful and to the point.
Share expert knowledge
Rallyhood is a great platform for sharing useful information. However, it can also be used to spread misinformation and distortions. If you hold a lot of knowledge about a certain topic or subject, don’t be afraid to share it online in a manner that is helpful and accurate.
